Benaulium Beach

Benaulium Beach is one of the crowded beach town in South Goa District in Goa. It is located near to south of Margoa. It is 41 kms from Panaji and 2 kms from Colava Beach hence when u visit Benauliun u can also visit to colava Beach.

 

 

 

About The Beach

Benaulium is a town of natural beauty.  It is one of the quite beach in goa . Benaulium is known for fishing . Its ends in Colva beach.

 Local people says legend that Lord Parashurama  a Avatar of lord Vishnu shot an arrow from Sahyadri  adjacent to Konkan it landed in this benaulium region from then it was called as banavalli In Sanskrit bana means arrow , after the impact of portuguese  it renamed as Benaulium.

Its Speciality lies in its quietness less crowded hence one can enjoy a lot. This beach is more crowded in evenings and  weekends.

 

Things To Do

Water Sports: one can enjoy lots of water sports here. Banana Boat rides , parasailing , jet skiing,are famous one. Wind surfing also enjoyable one can try.

 

Dolphin spotting  trips: Benaulium is known for Dolphin spotting trips. One can enjoy small trips in Sea and spot Dolphins.

 

Relax: People can select this beach when they want Relax. You can see many people relaxing in this beach just lying on sand enjoying sun bath , One can do swimming also as it is less crowded and also can walk along the beach side till sunset.

 

Sight seeing: Apart from the Beach you can also visit  the church of St John the Baptist situated on hill near the village one must visit this church known for its architecture .

 

Eat and Drink: A lots of beach side shacks there to serve delicious snacks and drinks . There a many good restaurants present which serves lots tasty goan food varieties . Algeria is one of the well known Goan speciality restaurant.

By Air: The nearest airport is Dabolium which is nearer to panaji and Panaji is 41kms away. From there u will get buses and taxi to reach Benaulium.

By Train: The nearest railway station is Karmali which is 11kms from Panaji.

By Road: There r frequent  buses to Colva beach which is 2kms away from there u will get buses or u can hire taxi to Benaulium beach.
